The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has called on the Federal Government to take decisive steps to address the country’s worsening security situation, insisting that Nigerians deserve the dividends of democracy rather than the persistent wave of killings and violence.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, the party expressed concern over the growing insecurity across the country, describing the continued loss of lives as unacceptable.
He said that, if utilized effectively, the aircraft would support the efforts of the nation’s security agencies, including the Amotekun Corps, in combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping for ransom and other criminal activities in Oyo State.
APM said the primary responsibility of any government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens, stressing that democracy should translate into improved security, economic stability and better living conditions for the people.
The party urged the government to strengthen the nation’s security architecture, enhance intelligence gathering and ensure security agencies are adequately equipped to tackle banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other violent crimes.
It further maintained that Nigerians deserve to live without fear, noting that the continued bloodshed in many parts of the country undermines public confidence in governance and threatens national development.
APM called for urgent and coordinated action to restore peace across the country, insisting that the protection of lives must remain a top priority for all levels of government.
