Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said the ongoing infrastructure and development projects across the nation’s capital are already showcasing the achievements of the President Bola Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
Wike said that political activities won’t get in the way of his administration finishing important development projects in the territory. He mentioned this while checking out the Arterial Road N16 and the Tunga Madaki–Zuba road projects on Wednesday.
According to him, the visible transformation in roads, public facilities and other critical infrastructure demonstrates the administration’s focus on delivering tangible results rather than engaging in premature political campaigns.
He said, “voters are more interested in tangible results than political rhetoric, stressing that the government has fulfilled many of its promises through ongoing infrastructure development”.
The contractor, CBC Global, has promised the government that the road will be finished by January. He also mentioned that there will be enough funding to make sure this deadline is met.
Wike praised China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation for the work they’re doing on the 7.3-kilometer Tunga Madaki–Zuba road.
The minister maintained that sustained execution of developmental projects remains the administration’s priority, expressing confidence that the impact of the completed and ongoing works would earn the support of Nigerians.
He reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to completing key projects on schedule, stressing that effective governance and service delivery remain the strongest indicators of the government’s performance ahead of the next general election.
