Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has praised Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, following their victory over Togo at the ongoing WAFU B U-20 Championship, CSONews24 reports.
Chelle gave the commendation after Nigeria’s win over Togo in the regional tournament, applauding the players for their discipline, resilience and impressive display throughout the encounter.
The Malian tactician said the victory reflects the quality of the country’s youth football development and urged the team to remain focused as they pursue success in the competition.
According to him, consistency, hard work and commitment will be crucial if the Flying Eagles are to sustain their momentum and achieve their objectives in the championship.
Chelle, present in Cote d’Ivoire to back the Flying Eagles during the WAFU B U-20 Championship, was notable for masterminding a significant turnaround in the match.
“I was happy with what I saw in the second-half. They played well in the second half, they put a lot of pressure on Togo, got the ball high on the pitch, got a lot of chances to score goals and they did,” Chelle said after the game.
He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to build on the result as they prepare for their remaining fixtures in the tournament.
