Transfer Deadline: Arteta Promises Arsenal Will Keep Improving Squad

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has assured supporters that the club remains active in the transfer market as the deadline approaches.

Arteta said Arsenal would continue to assess opportunities to strengthen the squad if suitable players become available.

Following the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night, Arteta promised the club would be active on the last day of the transfer window.

The Spanish coach stressed that the club’s priority is to improve the quality and depth of the team rather than make signings simply for the sake of adding players.

His comments come after Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa, a result that maintained the Gunners’ strong start to the campaign.

Speaking after the match, Arteta was asked about his intentions for transfer deadline day, with the window remaining open until midnight on Tuesday, September 1st.

He said, according to Football London, “We are striving to improve the squad, and until tomorrow night, we will continue to pursue that.

“I have been disconnected from the outside world for 24 hours, as I believe my energy and focus should be on the match, and I will return to that now.”

With the transfer window nearing its close, Arsenal remain linked with further attacking reinforcements as Arteta looks to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.

Arteta said the club would act if the right opportunity emerged, while making it clear that any new addition must improve the existing squad.
