FIFA Appoints Ismail Elfath to Officiate England-Argentina World Cup Semi-final

FIFA has appointed American referee Ismail Elfath to take charge of Wednesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina.

Elfath, who was born in Morocco before relocating to the United States, will oversee the highly anticipated encounter as both teams compete for a place in the tournament’s final.

He will be assisted by fellow American officials Corey Parker and Kyle Atkins, while Italy’s Maurizio Mariani has been named fourth official. Daniele Bindoni will serve as the reserve assistant referee.

The winner of the semi-final will progress to the World Cup final, where they will face either France or Spain, who contest the other last-four fixture.
