The National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Wolimoh Olajide Epe, has resigned from the party, citing concerns over its direction and internal structure as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
In his resignation letter, Epe said his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates and supporters, adding that it takes immediate effect.
He expressed disappointment over what he described as the party’s inability to develop into a truly national political platform, arguing that its internal operations had failed to promote inclusiveness and equal opportunities for members across the country.
The former party official also alleged that the interests of members outside the northern region had not received adequate consideration, a situation he said influenced his decision to step down from his position.
Despite his grievances, Epe thanked the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities, including as National Youth Leader and later as National Vice Chairman (South-West).
“I sincerely hope the leadership of the PRP will reflect on these observations and take the necessary steps to reposition the party for greater national relevance and inclusiveness”. He said.
His resignation marks another development within the PRP as political parties continue internal realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. At the time of filing this report, the party had not issued an official response to his resignation.
