Osun Governorship Election: INEC Commences PVC Distribution Across State

The National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to registered voters in Osun State as preparations intensify for the August 15 governorship election.

The commission stated that collection at the 332 Registration Areas across Osun State will take place from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

The statement said the exercise will run daily, including weekends, between 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. at the designated Registration Areas.

The exercise is targeted at eligible voters who completed their registration or requested transfers and card replacements but are yet to collect their PVCs. It urged affected residents to visit the designated collection centers within the scheduled period to obtain their cards.

INEC explained that the distribution would take place at its local government offices and other approved centers across the state to ensure easy access for voters.

“The Commission hereby reminds voters that PVC collection is strictly personal and it is an offence to do otherwise. Collection by proxy will not be allowed under any circumstance,” the statement read.

The electoral body reiterated that only voters in possession of valid PVCs would be accredited to vote on election day. It therefore encouraged all eligible voters to collect their cards promptly and avoid waiting until the deadline.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a free, fair and credible governorship election, calling on political parties, candidates and voters to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the electoral process.
