Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has appeared before the court as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) begins proceedings over allegations bordering on certificate forgery.
Nnaji was present in court on Monday as the anti-graft agency commenced the trial, marking the beginning of legal proceedings into the allegations levelled against him.
The former minister, who resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet in 2025, is facing allegations linked to claims surrounding the authenticity of academic certificates attributed to him. The matter has attracted public attention due to his previous position as a member of the Federal Executive Council.
The ICPC is expected to present its case as the court considers the evidence and arguments from both sides. Nnaji, however, has maintained his position on the matter and denied any wrongdoing.
The commencement of the trial provides an opportunity for all parties involved to present their claims before the court, with the outcome expected to be determined through the judicial process.
