CAC Sets Deadline for Insolvency Practitioners to Renew Registration

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has directed insolvency practitioners operating in Nigeria to renew their registrations and complete the required re-registration process within the stipulated deadline.

The commission said the directive was aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining an updated register of qualified practitioners.

It urged affected professionals to submit the necessary documents and meet the renewal conditions before the deadline to avoid possible sanctions or disruption to their practice.

It stated that practitioners who fail to renew their accreditation on or before December 1, 2026, would be ineligible to undertake new insolvency assignments or continue existing ones.

The CAC noted that proper registration would strengthen accountability and help ensure that insolvency-related services are handled by practitioners who meet the required standards.

Insolvency practitioners play key roles in managing the affairs of financially distressed businesses, including restructuring, administration and liquidation.

The commission advised practitioners to comply promptly with the directive and follow its official guidelines for completing the process.
