Osun APC Warns Adeleke Over Alleged Victimisation of LG Workers

APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of allegedly victimising local government workers over their perceived political affiliations.

The party, in a statement by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, alleged that the Local Government Service Commission had constituted a committee to investigate workers suspected of supporting the APC during the August 15, 2026, governorship election.

The APC claimed some affected workers had been invited before an investigative panel and subjected to scrutiny over their political activities.

The party described the alleged action as political victimisation and called on Adeleke to dissolve the committee and reactivate the accounts of local government workers reportedly affected by the ongoing dispute.

However, the state government rejected the allegation, saying the investigation was linked to complaints over alleged double salary payments and financial irregularities, rather than political affiliation.

The development is the latest fallout from the prolonged dispute over the control and administration of Osun’s 30 local government councils.

“It is inhuman, barbaric, and unconstitutional for you to victimise and dehumanise LG workers based on their political affiliation.” The party said.

The APC urged the government to resolve the matter within the law and avoid actions that could further deepen tensions in the state.
