The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is stepping up its final mobilisation for the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, with its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and National Leader, David Mark, heading to the state for the party’s final campaign rally.
Atiku departed Abuja alongside David Mark as the party moves into the closing stage of its campaign ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll.
The ADC’s final rally is expected to provide a major platform for the party to rally supporters behind its candidate, Najeem Salam, as the contest enters its final phase.
The Osun State governorship election is scheduled to hold on August 15, with Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Najeem Salam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) among the major contenders.
Salam brings legislative experience to the contest, having served as Speaker from 2011 to 2015. He was re-elected in 2017 and remained in the position until 2019.
The visit by Atiku and David Mark comes as the ADC seeks to consolidate its campaign efforts and strengthen support for Salam ahead of the election.
