The Ogun State Government has reinforced security across schools in the state as part of renewed efforts to provide a safer learning environment for students, teachers and other education stakeholders.
The state government said that the enhanced security framework is designed to prevent criminal activities around educational institutions through increased surveillance, improved collaboration among security agencies and the deployment of security personnel to strategic locations.
Speaking to newsmen, the commissioner for education,science and technology Abayomi Arigbabu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting pupils and students, stressing that the safety of children remains a top priority. He noted that the government has also embraced technology-driven monitoring systems to strengthen security around schools and improve early detection of potential threats.
According to the commissioner measures are intended to ensure that schools remain secure and conducive for teaching and learning while reassuring parents that the welfare of their children remains a key focus of government.
Arigbabu explained that the strengthened security architecture would help deter criminal elements, identify security risks promptly and sustain a peaceful environment within educational sectors across the state.
He added that investing in the security of schools is vital to building a brighter future for Ogun State, pledging that the government would continue to implement policies and initiatives that guarantee the safety and well-being of learners and education workers.
The Ogun State Police Command reaffirming its support said its School Protection Squad remains fully operational and committed to safeguarding schools across the state.
