NAF Wipes Out Terrorist Enclave in New Borno Airstrikes

In a recent aviation-led operation, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI executed successful precision airstrikes, neutralizing a terrorist stronghold located in Yaganari, Gezuwa, Borno State.

The development was made known in a statement made on Saturday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force.

According to the statement, the airstrikes were conducted on July 10 after credible intelligence revealed renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.

Ejodame said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged.

He also said, the precision strikes destroyed the identified terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several insurgents.

The Air Force noted that the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to degrade the operational capabilities of terrorist groups and deny them freedom of movement and the ability to regroup.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustained offensive operations against terrorist groups.

According to him, the Air Force will continue to work with ground forces to disrupt and destroy terrorist elements while ensuring they have no safe haven to rebuild their capabilities.
