The Kaduna State Police Command has called for stronger cooperation between security agencies and local communities to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, made the appeal during a security patrol across the Eastern Bypass, Rido Village, Maraban Rido, Unguwan Luka and Izam community in Igabi Local Government Area.

The patrol, conducted with members of the command’s management team, was aimed at assessing the security situation, identifying residents’ concerns and strengthening relations between the police and the communities.

According to the commissioner, “I assure you that information provided to the police will be treated confidentially and acted upon professionally in order to achieve the desired results of maintaining cordial relationships amongst residents.”

During a meeting with the traditional ruler and residents of Maraban Rido, Rabiu urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups and other residents to support security efforts by promptly reporting suspicious movements and activities.

He stressed that timely information from the public would help the police respond more effectively to security threats and prevent criminal activities.

The police commissioner assured residents that information provided would be handled confidentially and acted upon professionally.

The command said the patrol formed part of its proactive policing strategy to strengthen public confidence and improve security across vulnerable communities in Kaduna State.
