FCT Water Board Restores Supply to Wuse, Wuye, Maitama After Emergency Repairs

The Federal Capital Territory Water Board has restored potable water supply to parts of Abuja following a temporary disruption caused by emergency maintenance on a major trunk line.

The affected areas include Wuse 1, Wuse 2, Wuye and Maitama districts.

The board’s spokesperson, Umar Ako, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying water supply to the affected districts was restored on Tuesday after engineers completed urgent repairs on the main trunk line.

Ako explained that the maintenance work was necessary to prevent a major system failure and ensure the sustainability of water supply to the affected communities and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

He apologised to residents for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and commended them for their patience and cooperation while the repairs were being carried out.

“The board appreciates residents and customers for their understanding, endurance and patience during the temporary disruption of water supply. We recognise the inconveniences caused by the maintenance work and sincerely thank residents for their cooperation while our engineers worked diligently to resolve the challenge,” he said.

The spokesperson reaffirmed the board’s commitment to efficient service delivery, stressing that prompt responses to pipe bursts, leakages and other technical faults remained a priority.

Ako also appealed to customers to pay their water bills promptly and in full, noting that timely payments were essential to sustaining the board’s operations, carrying out routine maintenance and ensuring reliable water supply.

He advised residents with enquiries, complaints or requests for assistance with bill payments to visit the Customer Care Unit at the board’s headquarters in Area 3, Garki, Abuja, or contact the agency through its official customer service channels.

The FCT Water Board reiterated its commitment to providing clean, safe and reliable potable water to residents across the Federal Capital Territory.
