Enugu: Governor Mbah’s Aide Lucky Chukwu Reported Dead

Lucky Chukwu, an aide to Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, has reportedly died.

Chukwu’s death was reported on Monday, October 12, 2026, although details surrounding the circumstances of his death were not immediately available.

He served in the Mbah administration, contributing to the governor’s political and administrative activities.

His death was announced by his younger brother, Senator Kelvin Chukwu, who represents Enugu East Senatorial District.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, by the senator’s Head of Media, Amb. Dr. Ogomegbunam Success Nwoye, the lawmaker described the deceased as an astute public servant and politician.
“Senator Chukwu, who is mourning his elder brother, has therefore cancelled all his political activities/engagements for a week,” the statement read.

The statement concluded with a prayer for the repose of the deceased’s soul.

“May God rest the soul of Chief Lucky Chukwu,” it added.

His death comes as the state government continues its work across various sectors under Mbah’s leadership.

Further details about Chukwu’s role in the administration and the circumstances surrounding his death are expected to emerge as more information becomes available.
