The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released two supporters of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), who were being held in their custody.
Randy Peter and Precious Oruche, also known as Mama Pee, who are activists and supporters of Peter Obi, were released by the EFCC on Wednesday night after several hours of questioning.
Their release followed concerns which spread across social media over their whereabouts when supporters and associates started raising questions.
Activist Justice Cracks confirmed the release of Randy Peter and Precious Oruche, stating he accompanied them to the EFCC headquarters on Tuesday afternoon after they received an invitation.
He added that the meeting lasted for several hours before the activists were eventually allowed to leave the premises.
“My dear brother, Randy Peter, and my sister, Mama Pee, were invited by the EFCC. I personally accompanied them there on the afternoon of 15th July 2026, at about 1:00 p.m. It was a very long day,” Justice Crack said.
According to him, the activists were released at about midnight after spending roughly 11 hours at the commission’s office.
“They were eventually released at around 12:00 a.m. and were asked to return the following day, 16th July 2026. For now, everything is fine,” he added.
