The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has said it may withdraw its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election unless its national president, Bello Bodejo, is released from the custody of the State Security Service (SSS).
The group stated its position during a press conference at Bodejo’s residence in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where Fulani leaders from different parts of the country were present.
Nasarawa State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Akhajo Abubakar, said the group would support political leaders who demonstrate commitment to the interests and development of the Fulani community.
“We did not vote for APC to arrest our leaders. Our votes this time will go to those who want our progress.” Abubakar said.
Abubakar expressed dissatisfaction with Bodejo’s continued detention, arguing that the group did not support the All Progressives Congress (APC) to have its leaders arrested.
He said the organisation would mobilise its votes in 2027 for candidates it believes would advance the interests of its members.
The group also claimed to have a significant voting population in Nasarawa State, although no independent data was provided to substantiate the figure.
Bodejo has been in SSS custody in connection with a legal matter, while the group’s latest position adds a new dimension to the political calculations ahead of the 2027 elections.
