Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 employees of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), reaffirming the administration’s commitment to staff welfare and a merit-driven civil service.
The approval followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise, with beneficiaries drawn from various secretariats, departments and agencies of the FCTA.
The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, said the exercise was conducted in line with the Public Service Rules and established guidelines for career progression, describing the process as transparent and merit-based.
Ezeh noted that the promotions reflect the FCT Administration’s commitment to recognising hard work, dedication and professionalism, adding that the exercise is expected to boost staff morale and improve service delivery across the territory.
“The promotion examinations for senior officers were held between July 1 and July 3, while junior staff wrote theirs on July 10,” he said.
He commended Minister Wike for approving the promotions, saying the decision demonstrates the administration’s resolve to motivate workers and strengthen the efficiency of the FCT civil service.
“Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due. This is to complement the tremendous work that the FCT Minister is doing in infrastructural development of the Territory, and for us, the workers will not be left out in the celebrations marking the third anniversary of Mr President,” he said.
The promoted officers are expected to assume their new ranks with immediate effect and were urged to justify the confidence reposed in them through greater commitment, accountability and excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities.
