Tinubu Begins Three-Week Annual Leave, Heads to London

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Sunday depart Abuja for Europe to commence a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.

According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu’s first destination will be London, United Kingdom.

The presidency described the trip as a vacation and working visit, with the President expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the three-week break.

Onanuga said Tinubu would return to the country ahead of the January 2027 elections, when he is expected to participate in campaign activities.

The statement, dated August 30, 2026, did not provide further details on the President’s itinerary or the specific engagements planned during his stay in Europe.

Tinubu’s departure comes amid preparations for the 2027 general elections and ongoing political activities across the country.
