Plateau Troops Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Three Victims in Bokkos

Troops of Sector 5, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have thwarted a suspected kidnapping operation along Sha-Daffo Road in Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, rescuing three victims in the process.

The incident occurred at about 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, after the troops received a distress report concerning suspected kidnapping activities along the route.

According to counter-terrorism expert, Zagazola Makama, the soldiers immediately moved to the area, disrupting the operation and forcing the suspected kidnappers to abandon their victims and escape into the surrounding area.

The rescued victims were identified as 42-year-old Haruna Rabiu, 25-year-old Mary Joseph and 29-year-old Bridget Gideon.

Makama said the three victims sustained minor injuries during the incident and were subsequently taken to a hospital for medical attention.

“Security forces have commenced efforts to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

“The operation is part of ongoing efforts by troops under OPEP to disrupt criminal activities and protect communities and road users across Plateau State,” he said.
