A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dele Momodu, has endorsed Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term, arguing that the governor deserves to remain in office based on his administration’s performance.
Momodu said Adeleke’s achievements in infrastructure, governance and other sectors have demonstrated his commitment to the development of the state.
In a post on his verified X account on Tuesday, Momodu claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has turned Osun State into a battleground.
He urged residents of Osun State to assess the governor’s record and allow him to consolidate the projects and policies initiated during his first term.
According to Momodu, continuity would enable the administration to complete ongoing projects and further advance its development agenda.
“I make this declaration without equivocation, or any fear of contradiction. This is not based on friendship or family ties.
“Adeleke is the best amongst Nigerian Governors, in order of extraordinary performance in infrastructure, health, education, staff welfare, labour unions, agriculture, commerce, culture, women empowerment, youth integration, and so on.
“We should never supply the APC an easy alibi to rig the Osun gubernatorial election on August 15, 2026. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he tweeted.
He made the remarks as political activities intensify ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election, with political parties and aspirants stepping up campaigns and consultations.
Momodu maintained that the governor’s performance should be the major consideration for voters as they prepare to choose the next occupant of the Osun State Government House.
