Lagos Police Arrest Six Over Viral Video of Alleged Motorists’ Harassment

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with a viral video showing suspected miscreants allegedly harassing motorists along a road in the state.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed the development in a post on her X handle on Thursday while reacting to the footage, which had sparked concerns among residents.

The video reportedly captured individuals attempting to damage the side mirror of a vehicle, raising fresh concerns about the safety of motorists along the route.

Adebisi said the Command had already been monitoring activities linked to such incidents and had begun taking preventive measures before the footage surfaced online.

According to her, six suspects were arrested on the same road following the incident, while investigations into the matter are ongoing.

“The command wishes to clarify that it had already been on the lookout for, and taking proactive measures against, miscreants involved in such activities even before the said video surfaced online.

“Following the incident, six suspects have been arrested on the same road, and an investigation is ongoing,” she said.

The spokesperson added that the Command had increased its presence in the area by deploying additional personnel to improve surveillance and prevent further incidents.

She appreciated members of the public who alerted the police to the situation and encouraged residents to continue sharing credible and timely information that could assist law enforcement operations.

Adebisi further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding motorists and residents while taking action against criminal activities across Lagos State.
