The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, has died.
Abdullahi reportedly died in Kano on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. He was widely known for providing regular updates on fire outbreaks, rescue operations and other emergencies handled by the state fire service.
Abdullahi was buried at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday in Kano State, according to report.
In his capacity as spokesperson, he frequently issued statements on emergency incidents across Kano and advised residents on fire prevention and safety measures.
His death has left colleagues and other stakeholders in the emergency response sector mourning the loss of an official who played a key role in communicating the activities of the fire service to the public.
The Kano State Fire Service has yet to publicly announce further details surrounding his death.
