The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mr Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has reaffirmed the Federal Civil Service’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions to promote national unity, good governance and effective public service delivery.
Abel stated this when he received a delegation from the Ife Traditional Council, representing the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, during a courtesy visit to his office.
The delegation visited to congratulate the HCSF on his recent appointment and convey the Ooni’s goodwill and best wishes.
Receiving the delegation, Abel expressed appreciation to the Ooni and the Ife Traditional Council for the gesture, while acknowledging the historical and cultural significance of Ile-Ife as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation.
He said traditional institutions remained important stakeholders in Nigeria’s socio-cultural development, particularly in preserving the country’s cultural heritage and promoting peace, unity and community development.
According to him, the visit further underscored the enduring role of traditional institutions in fostering national cohesion and supporting initiatives aimed at advancing Nigeria’s development.
The HCSF reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Civil Service to constructive engagement with traditional institutions in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He stressed that improving public service delivery, strengthening governance and building resilient institutions required sustained collaboration, collective responsibility and a shared commitment to national development.
Abel also commended the Ooni of Ife for what he described as his fatherly, inclusive and visionary leadership, particularly his contributions to the development and promotion of Nigeria’s interests within the country and in the diaspora.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Olori Dr Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi conveyed the Ooni’s warm regards to the HCSF and expressed appreciation for the reception accorded the delegation.
Olori Ogunwusi described Abel as a purpose-driven and accomplished public servant and urged officers and staff of the Federal Civil Service to support his vision and contribute to its successful implementation.
She said sustainable institutional success could only be achieved through teamwork, unity of purpose and collective dedication.
The royal representative expressed confidence in the ability of the HCSF to provide transformative leadership and further strengthen the Federal Civil Service in line with the aspirations of the present administration.
Other members of the delegation included the Onifegunwa of Ifegunwa, Oba Adedire Adewole Solomon, and the Yeye Bobajiro Oodua, Dr Yeye Afolashade Shona-Aluko.
The visit highlights the continued engagement between Nigeria’s traditional institutions and the Federal Civil Service in advancing cultural preservation, social cohesion and national development.
