The Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Dr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, describing him as a “perfect fit” for the position.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the President of CSGGG, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic Ogakwu, said the appointment reflects the President’s recognition of experience, professionalism and competence in strengthening Nigeria’s public service.
Ogakwu described Enitan as a seasoned public servant who has distinguished himself through years of dedicated service, administrative competence, professionalism and commitment to national development.
According to him, Enitan’s extensive experience within the Federal Civil Service has adequately prepared him to provide the leadership required to consolidate ongoing reforms and reposition the Service for greater efficiency and productivity.
“Dr. Enitan has demonstrated credibility, integrity, professionalism and competence throughout his career in public service. His understanding of the system, combined with his commitment to institutional development and nation-building, makes him a perfect fit for this important national assignment,” Ogakwu said.
CSGGG noted that Enitan’s appointment comes at a critical period when the country requires a more efficient, accountable, innovative and result-oriented Civil Service capable of driving the implementation of government policies and delivering tangible benefits to Nigerians.
The coalition expressed confidence that the new Head of Service would prioritise merit, discipline, professionalism, digital transformation and improved service delivery while strengthening accountability across the Federal Civil Service.
CSGGG further commended President Tinubu for entrusting the responsibility to an experienced career public servant, describing the decision as an opportunity to deepen institutional reforms within the bureaucracy.
The group congratulated Enitan on his appointment and urged him to deploy his wealth of experience towards building a modern, responsive and productive Civil Service capable of contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
It also pledged the support of organised civil society for initiatives aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, professionalism and effective public service delivery in the country.
