The Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), describing him as a highly suitable choice for the position.
In a statement issued in Abuja, CSGGG President, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic Ogakwu, said the appointment demonstrated the President’s confidence in experience, professionalism and competence as key drivers of ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s public service.
Ogakwu described Enitan as a seasoned career civil servant who has distinguished himself through years of dedicated service, administrative expertise, professionalism and commitment to national development.
He said Enitan’s extensive experience within the Federal Civil Service had equipped him with the institutional knowledge and leadership capacity required to consolidate existing reforms and reposition the Service for greater efficiency, productivity and effective policy implementation.
“Dr. Enitan has demonstrated credibility, integrity, professionalism and competence throughout his career in public service. His understanding of the system, combined with his commitment to institutional development and nation-building, makes him a perfect fit for this important national assignment,” Ogakwu said.
The group noted that Enitan’s appointment comes at a critical juncture when Nigeria needs a more efficient, accountable, innovative and results-oriented Civil Service capable of translating government policies into tangible benefits for citizens.
CSGGG expressed confidence that the new Head of Service would promote merit, discipline and professionalism while advancing digital transformation, accountability and improved service delivery across the Federal Civil Service.
The coalition also commended President Tinubu for entrusting the responsibility to an experienced career public servant, saying the appointment presents an opportunity to deepen institutional reforms and strengthen the effectiveness of Nigeria’s administrative machinery.
CSGGG congratulated Enitan on his appointment and urged him to deploy his wealth of experience towards building a modern, responsive and productive Civil Service that can contribute significantly to national development.
The group further pledged the support of organised civil society for initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, professionalism and effective public service delivery in Nigeria.
