An Ekiti State High Court has revoked the bail earlier granted to Abimbola Jumoke Olawumi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, who is standing trial over alleged cyberbullying.
Olawumi pleaded not guilty to four charges at the Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court on July 23, 2026, and was granted bail on self-recognition.
After ruling that the conditions attached to her bail had been breached the court ordered Olawumi’s remand. The decision was delivered during the resumed hearing of the criminal case instituted against her.
The prosecution had urged the court to revoke the bail, arguing that Olawumi failed to comply with the terms of her release, while the defence opposed the application and sought the continuation of the bail.
After hearing arguments from both parties, the court granted the prosecution’s request, revoked the defendant’s bail and ordered that Abimbola Jumoke Olawumi be remanded in custody pending the continuation of trial.
The matter was adjourned to 17th August, 2026 for further proceedings.
