UK Court Hands Salah Six-Month Driving Ban

Mohamed Salah

Former Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has been handed a six-month driving ban after failing to provide information identifying the driver of his Rolls-Royce when it was caught speeding in Cheshire.

According to court documents reported by the BBC, the vehicle was recorded by a speed camera travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on March 27.

Salah, 34, did not respond to a notice of prosecution brought by Cheshire Constabulary and did not enter a plea to the charge.

A court spokeswoman said Salah was prosecuted at Warrington Combined Court under the Single Justice Procedure, under which magistrates deal with certain cases in private hearings.

He was convicted of “failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of the Rolls-Royce”, according to the court spokeswoman.

Salah was subsequently handed a six-month driving disqualification and ordered to pay £1,044.
