Troops Dismantle Suspected Terrorist Camp, Apprehend Five Suspects

Nigerian troops have dismantled a suspected terrorist hideout during a security operation that also led to the arrest of five suspected terrorists.

The operation, carried out as part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, targeted a location believed to be serving as a base for criminal activities. Security forces reportedly overran the hideout, recovering items linked to the suspects while disrupting their operations.The troops destroyed the suspected terrorist camp and several structures believed to have served as operational and logistics bases for the criminal elements.

“The operation targeted identified terrorist hideouts as part of ongoing efforts to deny armed groups freedom of movement and dismantle their operational infrastructure,” a military source said.

Military authorities said the five suspects were taken into custody for further interrogation and investigation, adding that the operation forms part of sustained efforts to deny terrorist groups freedom of movement and operational bases.

The arrested suspects will undergo further investigation as security operations continue across the area,” another source said.

The armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying offensive operations against terrorists and other violent criminal groups, urging members of the public to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing security efforts.
