The Presidency has dismissed reports alleging that Minister of Defense, Christopher Musa, has resigned from office, describing the claims as false and unfounded.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, refuted the reports, stating that Musa remains a serving member of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet and continues to perform his official responsibilities. According to Onanuga: “General Musa not resigning as defence minister.
“General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) remains fully focused on his national security mandate, deeply committed to his duties, and completely dedicated to piloting the nation’s defence strategy with results already being seen.”
The clarification followed the circulation of claims suggesting the Defence Minister had stepped down from office, sparking speculation over his status in the Federal Executive Council.
The Presidency urged the public to disregard the reports, stressing that no resignation had been submitted or accepted, and reaffirmed that Musa remains fully in office as Minister of Defence.
