ADC Kwara Governorship Candidate Mourns Death of Yashikira Prince

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Kwara State in the 2027 election, Rt. Hon. Zakari Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Gunu Moore, a revered village head and distinguished frontline prince of the Yashikira Kingdom.

Mohammed, in a condolence message, described the late traditional leader as a respected custodian of his people’s values whose years of service, wisdom and commitment earned him widespread respect within the Yashikira community and beyond.

He said the death of Gunu Moore represented a significant loss to his immediate family, the traditional institution and the entire Yashikira Emirate.

The ADC governorship candidate extended his condolences to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Usman Sarki, the Sabi Kpasi of Yashikira, the royal family, the deceased’s family, traditional institutions and the people of Yashikira Emirate.

He described the deceased as a man whose life was defined by service, dignity and dedication to his people, adding that his contributions would remain a reference point in the history of the kingdom.

«“The passing of Gunu Moore is a painful loss to the kingdom, but we take solace in the distinguished life of service he lived,” Mohammed said.»

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

Mohammed also prayed for strength and fortitude for the bereaved family, the royal institution and the entire Yashikira Emirate to bear the loss.
