Abel Enitan Meets Junior Staff, Assures of Inclusive Leadership, Improved Welfare
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mr Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has assured junior officers in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) that their welfare, contributions and concerns remain central to the administration’s people-centred leadership approach.
Abel gave the assurance during an interactive engagement with officers on Salary Grade Level 07 and below, organised to strengthen staff welfare, promote workplace dialogue and foster a more responsive and harmonious working environment.
The HCSF emphasised that every cadre of the workforce had an important role to play in the effective functioning of the Civil Service, urging junior officers to engage constructively with management and offer practical suggestions capable of improving service delivery.
He encouraged the officers to support management programmes and initiatives by prioritising the collective interest of the Service and discharging their responsibilities with diligence, professionalism and commitment.
Abel also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as the administration’s sustained commitment to the welfare of civil servants under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He cited the introduction of the exit benefit and Renewed Hope Mass Transit Schemes among welfare interventions demonstrating the government’s recognition of the contributions of civil servants to national development.
The HCSF assured the officers that government would continue to pursue measures aimed at improving their wellbeing within the framework of existing policies, rules and regulations.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Common Services Office, Dr Danjuma Usman Kalba, described the engagement as a valuable platform for direct interaction between the OHCSF leadership and junior officers.
Kalba said constructive dialogue and open communication were essential to understanding staff concerns, strengthening workplace relationships and creating a supportive and productive working environment.
In her vote of thanks, the Director, Human Resources Management and Administration, Mrs Jennifer Sharang, appreciated the HCSF for providing the opportunity for direct engagement with junior officers.
She also commended the Permanent Secretary and participating officers for their openness, contributions and commitment to the success of the session.
The interactive meeting provided an opportunity for junior officers to raise concerns and make suggestions on welfare, workplace experiences, career progression and professional development.
The engagement formed part of the OHCSF’s broader efforts to build an efficient, productive, professional and people-centred Federal Civil Service where officers are valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully to national development.
