Plateau Crisis: Apostle Selman Provides N200m Relief for Attack Victims

Apostle Joshua Selman, founder of Koinonia Global Ministries, has donated relief materials valued at N200 million to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, intended for victims of the recent attacks in the region.

The clergyman, accompanied by other prominent ministers, made the donation during a condolence visit to the governor on Wednesday in Jos.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the package includes N100 million in cash and another N100 million worth of rice and cooking oil, to be distributed to those affected by the violence.

Speaking at the presentation, Apostle Selman emphasized that as sons of Plateau, it was their duty to show genuine concern and empathy during the state’s time of trial.

“Your Excellency, thank you for receiving us warmly. We are here to stand with the state, especially following the recent tragic events,” he said.

“We believed it was responsible—not just as ministers of the gospel but as sons of the soil—to go beyond compassion. We came to identify with the state, to console families who have lost loved ones and property, and to commend the government for its efforts, both great and small, in improving lives and curbing these unfortunate incidents.

“We have brought a truckload of 3,000 bags of rice and oil, worth over N100 million, and by God’s grace, an additional N100 million in cash, to bring relief to grieving families.

“This is our way of demonstrating love and responsibility. While these items cannot bring back the dead, they can at least ease the pain of those who are mourning.”

The apostle also delivered a message of hope to the state: “Do not give up. One day, we will look back and thank you for your resilience. There is still hope for Plateau.”

In response, Governor Mutfwang praised Selman, noting that while prophets are often without honor in their own land, Selman’s honor had preceded him both at home and abroad. He called on all who are connected to Plateau to emulate the pastor’s kindness and commit to the “Plateau Project,” saying the destinies of many are tied to the state.

“On behalf of the government and people of Plateau, I thank you sincerely for this act of love,” Mutfwang said. “We will continue to trust God and do our best to ensure such wicked acts are not repeated.

“If the Lord had not been on our side, what the enemy intended would have been far worse than what we now see. So while we mourn, we remain a grateful people.

“The preservation of Plateau is a divine mandate. Whether we are indigenes or not, God has placed this burden on us. This is a land set on a hill, and we must take that responsibility seriously.”
