A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State, Adamu Yahaya, popularly known as Adam Fakai, has withdrawn his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Fakai said his decision was prompted by what he described as a lack of recognition, encouragement and support from APC leaders at both the state and federal levels despite his efforts to promote the Tinubu administration.
The Kebbi politician said he had spent more than two years using his personal resources, time and energy to publicise the Federal Government’s programmes and projects across Nigeria because of his belief in Tinubu’s leadership.
He alleged that some prominent political figures had used photographs and videos of government projects he personally documented without acknowledging or contacting him.
Fakai said the experience had left him disappointed, particularly because he expected greater support from members of his party in Kebbi and at the national level.
He consequently announced that he would stop promoting the programmes and achievements of the Tinubu administration, effective immediately.
The APC chieftain, however, expressed appreciation to individuals who had encouraged him during his advocacy efforts, while maintaining that his decision was driven by his experience within the party.
